Record Numbers Joined in the Fun

June 15, 2009

Yesterday’s MonsterMortgge.ca Toronto Challenge was a HUGE success. No official numbers are out yet but early reports show that we are on track for smashing last year’s participation and fundraising totals. I will post some images of the event (and hopefully some video from CP 24) when they come in but for now I just wanted to post the speech from the event and send an extra special thanks to
Erin Mulcahey-Abbott and all the staff, families and volunteers for outdoing themselves again this year. EXCELLENT JOB!!

YESTERDAY’S SPEECH – CHECK AGAINST DELIVERY

Thank you very much Reg. On behalf of all of us at MonsterMortgage.ca I would like to welcome everyone to what is sure to be the most successful year in the 18 year history of the MonsterMortgage.ca Toronto Challenge. MonsterMortgage.ca is thrilled to be back again this year as the lead sponsor for this event.

Today’s unprecedented financial crisis makes it difficult for organizations around the world to continue to meet the needs of the communities in which they work, live and play.

In the face of these challenging economic times, we at MonsterMortgage.ca take great pride in our ongoing commitment to building strong communities, which include making them great places to live for seniors across the City of Toronto.

This is truly an amazing event for such a wonderful cause, and we look forward to being able to build on its success for years to come.

At MonsterMortgage.ca we know all about treating people with respect. As Canada’s Mortgage Brokerage of the year for 2008 and 2009, we have been recognized nationally for providing you, the consumer, with the facts your bank won’t tell you about paying off your mortgages and bad debts faster.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our clients, Mortgage Agents, employees and our business partners whose ongoing fundraising and volunteer efforts contribute to the success of this event year after year. In particular I would like to thank MonsterInsurance.ca, Genworth Financial, MCAP and Scotia Mortgage Authority.

Finally I would like to thank (and congratulate) the City of Toronto for organizing the Toronto Challenge. In particular, Erin Mulcahey-Abbott and the staff, families and volunteers that have worked endlessly to ensure that our seniors get the support that they deserve.
Good Luck and Have Fun!
