ING Direct Canada Announces Broker Channel Exit

MonsterMortgage.ca senior mortgage expert Kristian Harris elaborates on the January 16th announcement that ING Direct Canada will be exiting the mortgage broker channel; effectively reshaping the way that ING Direct distributes mortgages in Canada.

In August of 2012, it was announced that Scotiabank had purchased ING Direct Canada for approximately $3.1 billion. At that time, there was some uncertainty regarding the ING Direct Canada brand and what would become of their unique image and banking products.

The January 16th announcement is likely the first major indication of what will be a massive overhaul and transformation of the ING Direct Canada brand and model.
