MonsterTV – Credit Myth: Checking Your Report Will Hurt Your Score ❌
November 27, 2020
Oftentimes, we have people call in to tell us about their tough situations but they’ll also say, “don’t pull my credit score! I don’t want my credit score to go down or to be affected.”
This is simply a credit myth created by other bankers and lenders to keep you from exploring different options. They avoid the possibility of you walking into somewhere else and having you credit checked for better options.
Typically, people will have their credit pulled at least once or twice a year, which does not decrease your score and barely affects it at all. Sometimes it won’t even move your score one bit.
Keep in mind, if you are having several credit inquiries every month, then this will start to affect your credit score and make you appear credit seeking.
If you have good credit, pulling a credit report will not be hurting you.
